Aloha and Welcome to the 2024 Kiwanis Kupuna Spelling Bee website! 

This year, we will be having a preliminary spelling bee on the Big Island: 

• Big Island - September 14, 2024 at 9 a.m. at Hawaii Island Adult Care.

Airline transportation will be provided to the top three Big Island preliminary winners and a guest, courtesy of Hawaiian Airlines. In addition, Big Island preliminary winners will receive:

• • 1st Place:    50,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles 

  • 2nd Place:  30,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles

  • 3rd Place:   20,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles

The top three spellers from the above preliminary competition will be eligible to compete in the Kiwanis Kupuna Spelling Bee Competition on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Betsuin Hongwanji Mission, Honolulu. Registration for the October 26th competition will be limited to the first 100 registrants.   

Winners of the October 26, 2024 Kiwanis Kupuna Spelling Bee Competition will also receive:

• • 1st Place:    50,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles, $2,000*, and a roundtrip for two to anywhere Alaska Airlines flies

  • 2nd Place:  30,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles and $1,000* 

  • 3rd Place:   20,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles and $500*

*Cash prizes have been generously donated by a donor.
