Aloha and Welcome to the 2023 Kiwanis Kupuna Spelling Bee website! 

This year, we will be having preliminary spelling bees on the Big Island, Kaua'i, Maui, and Oahu (Aiea and Honolulu): 

• Kaua'i - June 20, 2023 at 9 a.m.  (Completed)

• Big Island - June 24, 2023 at 9 a.m. (Completed)

• Maui - July 1, 2023 at 9 a.m. (Completed)

• Aiea - July 15, 2023 at 9 a.m. (Completed)

• Honolulu - July 22, 2023 at 1 p.m. (Completed)

The top three spellers from each of the above preliminary competitions will be eligible to compete in the Kiwanis Kupuna Spelling Bee Finals Competition on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Lanakila Multipurpose Center, Honolulu.  Airline transportation will be provided to the top three neighbor island winners, and a guest, courtesy of Hawaiian Airlines.  

Winners from each of the above preliminary events will also receive:

1st Place:    1st Place Medal & 50,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles

2nd Place:   2nd Place Medal & 30,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles

3rd Place:    3rd Place Medal & 20,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles

The grand champion in the finals competition will receive a trip for two to anywhere Alaska Airlines flies, as well as a 4-night stay at California Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
